As far back as I can remember, I was an active kid. At six years old, I fell in love with gymnastics and ice skating. At age nine, I instantly connected with ballet. I enjoyed the discipline and focus that was needed to execute each step and position. At age sixteen, I summered at the Chicago City Ballet School. However, after an intense six-week program, I realized that my body was not well-suited for a career as a ballerina. I needed to find a new focus.

Years later, I walked into the local gym and knew I'd found my calling. At first, I had no clue what I was doing, but I began to learn. Like many women, my workouts initially consisted mostly of cardio. I ran The Marine Marathon in Washington DC and the LA Marathon, but found that I needed more.

Soon after, I discovered indoor cycling. The upbeat music and the energy of the room were right up my alley. After a couple of years, with the encouragement of my instructor, I got my spin certificate and began teaching classes.

In time, I transitioned out of my office job and committed myself to a serious change. I earned my personal training certification and became a full-time personal trainer. The success I've had with my personal fitness journey has laid the foundation for my entire career in health and fitness.

I continue to stay up to date with the latest traditional and non-traditional workouts. I'm an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and hold certifications in TRX Suspension Training, Kettlebell 1 & 2, Steel Mace, Pre and Post-Natal and Schwinn, Keiser and SPIN indoor cycling. I'm also a certified Level 2 Precision Nutrition Coach.

In my 40's, I competed in my first Figure Competitions. In 2016, I placed 2nd in my age group. Now, as I near my 50's, I still maintain many of the healthy habits that I learned years ago. Each day brings new challenges and, with the support of my friends, family, coworkers, and coaches, I manage to keep my health and life well balanced. I truly believe in the positive and long-lasting benefits of exercise and healthy eating.
